Interior & Dash / Functioning center NACA Duct
Last post by Paul Proefrock - Apr 15, 2025, 10:20 AM
I am trying to develop a functioning center NACA duct, including a flapper valve to turn it off if desired. Since I am a proud owner of a RCR that is less than two years old, I don't have my A/C system yet. I am not able to measure or determine how much space it takes.

To someone that has installed the Evaporator/Heater unit, can someone tell me how much space is there between the evaporator/heater and the front wall. How much space do I have to work with?

Joe, when you create a new post or respond to one, at the bottom of the editing area you'll see "Click or drag files here to attach them."

When you click on that, it will open a search window on your computer. Navigate to the folder where the picture file is stored and select it.

The program will upload the file. Click on the blue arrow will add it to the post. You will get a dialog box asking size where you can set the size of the file if necessary. This is to overcome those files that are so large they create a scroll bar on the post. I generally just put in 800 for width which will fill the screen with the picture.

Don't purchase widened Halibrands from RCR. The dropped center is too far away from the rim edge making it nearly impossible to mount a tire without damaging the bead or rim. RCR  could not mount them and blamed the tires. I managed to get these on, but installer had a real hard time, tore the bead, but holding air.

Drivetrain / G96 dimensions
Last post by Paul Proefrock - Apr 14, 2025, 07:37 PM
to those who have the Porsche G96, could you help with some dimensions. I am still waiting for mine and would like to verify some positioning so I can continue to build. I've scoured the internet looking for some detail but can't find anything.

Most specifically, I am looking for these dimensions
A) Bellhousing face to centerline of axles
B) Axle centerline to centerline of rear support bushing.
C) Centerline of input to center of rear support bushing
D) Center of input to center of axles
E) Outer diameter of bushing hub

Interior & Dash / Re: AC refrigerant fill

Steve,
Vintage Air is calling for 1lb-12oz of R134a. I suspect you will need more due to longer hoses but it is a starting point. Final tuning is by temperature

Suspension, Wheels, Tires / Re: Anti-sway bars?
Last post by Paul Proefrock - Apr 12, 2025, 09:49 PM
Wolfgang,
I am familiar with Dean Lampe's first build, which he built for the track. It included front and rear swaybar. The front came from Speedway Engineering, the rear was a 3/4" solid bar from the front of a Kirkham Cobra. After a few laps, he changed to a 1" solid front and 1" hollow rear.

This is a link to Speedway: https://1speedway.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=76

I am told the RCR has a slight Under-steer but no comments on where that occurs (Entry, Mid or Exit)

This is a link to Dean's suspension settings: https://www.gt40s.com/threads/sway-bars-on-an-rcr.26743/post-243790

Have you found any pictures showing where the front rollbar is mounted. I know it is on the face of the footbox but not sure about its height

Interior & Dash / Vintage Air Unit

Can anyone confirm, the HVAC system supplied (hopefully, someday) by RCR is the Vintage Air Mini Gen II unit?
