Engine / Re: Coolant Tank

I think as long as the top of the tank is higher than the top of the outlet on the intake manifold it will work.

I'm surprised it's mounted so low.  I would think it needs to be as high as possible to fill the engine block and radiator. No?

Don, Unfortunately, Colin did not respond to my post on FB, so hoping I can get original dimensions elsewhere.

This picture is from a restored original Mk1. You can see that the mounting tabs fasten to the integrated roll bar structure. We don't have that, so my design has the tabs on the panel that's adjacent to the firewall. I am probably going to carve a piece of foam to size and then adjust my design accordingly.

I redid my rendition of the original GT40 coolant expansion tank. Not sure how accurate it is since it based on someone else's copy. My idea is to make the perimeter a single piece that is folded into shape and then flat plates are welded on to close it.

Hoping someone has dimensions from an original.

Quote from: Paul Proefrock on Apr 15, 2025, 10:14 AMJoe, when you create a new post or respond to one, at the bottom of the editing area you'll see "Click or drag files here to attach them."

When you click on that, it will open a search window on your computer. Navigate to the folder where the picture file is stored and select it.

The program will upload the file. Click on the blue arrow will add it to the post. You will get a dialog box asking size where you can set the size of the file if necessary. This is to overcome those files that are so large they create a scroll bar on the post. I generally just put in 800 for width which will fill the screen with the picture.

Thanks!

File Uploads / Demister Grill - 3D Printed
Last post by Randy Folsom - Apr 17, 2025, 06:03 AM
This 3D printed demister grill has a lip around the perimeter that can be sanded back for a nice fit. It might be helpful to scale the X or Y dimensions for fit as well. The area under the windshield will get very hot so only high temperature filaments should be used.

I will post STL, STEP and Fusion 360 if requested.
